■Kuguri's POV■

The sound of birds chirping, became today's alarm as I woke up to them. When I open my eyes and looks up the ceilings and surrounding.

This isn't my room...

I'm in the living room, on the sofa. Just when I'm about to get up, I feel a weight on my body so I look down and see the sight that makes my heart stops beating.

On top of me, Y/N is sleeping, laying on her stomach on top of me, head resting on my chest.

Then I remember, last night I was drunk and we ended up having an honest conversation in here.

I watch as her body slightly moves when she breathes. Her face is a little covered by her eyes but I still can see the sleeping beauty in front of me.

I tuck a strand of her hair behind her ears, enjoying the sight I have this early in the morning. My hand moves to caresses her cheek.

But then, when my hand touches the skin of her cheek, her eyes flutter and open. (E/c) slowly looks my way and our eyes met.

She stares at me, trying to grasp the situation until reality hits her as she is completely awake.

Y/N: N-Naoyasu san!?

Y/N abruptly gets up and almost fell from the sofa but I caught her. Her hands rest on my chest as our body is really close.

Her face turns red, which amuses me knowing that I could make her look like this.

Kuguri: good morning...

How nice if I could see this every morning as I open my eyes...

■Y/N's POV■

I move slowly and getting off Naoyasu san's body.

How did I end up on top of him...

Y/N: g-good morning Naoyasu san... I uh... sorry, it must be heavy... it must've been uncomfortable...

I sit on the sofa, looking away while sometimes glancing at him from the corner of my eyes. Naoyasu san gets up from the sofa and walks to the kitchen to get some water.

Naoyasu: no, you're warm...

I can feel my cheeks grew hot. I remember our conversation from last night. How he apologized to me for how we end, for how he hurt me, makes my chest feels fuzzy. I shook my head and gets up.

Time to make breakfast...

I walk to the fridge and open it to get the ingredients out, but then I notice that the fridge is almost empty.

Y/N: we're... almost running out of food...

Naoyasu san looks at me and puts the glass he's holding on the counter.

Kuguri: well, let's go shopping together after breakfast...

■3rd Person POV■

Y/N and Kuguri are getting out of Kuguri's car. The two walk to the supermarket to buy groceries.

Y/N is nervous and feels flustered as this is the first time the two do something together like this. Kuguri push the trolley and took everything on the high shelf.

They walk side by side, really close to each other. As the two turns into the vegetable section, an old lady greets the two and they greet her too.

Old lady: oh my, such a cute young couple.... your wife is beautiful, young man...

The old lady smiles as she says these nice things. Y/N's heart is racing by the old lady's remarks. When she looks up, wanting to see Kuguri's response to that, her eyes widened. Kuguri is smiling at the old lady and says something to her.

Kuguri: thank you, you are right... my wife is beautiful...

Y/N can't help but be even more flustered. Seeing how Kuguri says that about her makes her feels happy. The two finish their shopping and return back home.

Y/N is arranging the ingredients in the fridge while Kuguri places some of their goods on the shelves.

Just then

Riiing! Riiing! Riiing!

Kuguri looks at his phone and picks up the call, Y/N looks at her husband as he speaks on the phone.

Kuguri: yes mom, good morning what is it?

Y/N watches as Kuguri talks to his mom and then she sees when Kuguri's eyes widened. He looks her way and Y/N is wondering what did they talk about.

Kuguri: okay... yes... be careful.

Kuguri puts the phone inside his pocket and looks at Y/N.

Y/N: what is it?

Kuguri: my parents... they wanted to stay the night in here for a day...

Kuguri's parents are currently visiting a relative who lives not far from Kuguri's apartment. The two decided they want to sleep over at their son's place instead.

Y/N: oh my... we need to clean up...

Kuguri: our place is not messy at all, but instead... we have to clean the guest room from your stuff...

Y/N tilts her head a little before she realizes something. Her eyes widened and her face turns red. If they want to sleep over, then that means they will use the guest room, her current guest room. Moreover, it'll be weird if they found out that the two didn't sleep in the same room.

Kuguri: it seems like, we have to sleep in the same room tonight.

It's four in the afternoon when the bell rings. Y/N walks to the front door and opens it.

Kuguri mom: Y/N! My daughter ..

Kuguri's mother pulls Y/N to her and hugs her tightly. Y/N was surprised but eventually smiles and hugs her back.

Kuguri's dad: good afternoon Y/N, sorry for intruding...

Kuguri's mother lets go of Y/N and she bows her head at her in laws.

Y/N: welcome, no, we've been expecting you... come in... Naoyasu san is cutting some apples for snacks.

Y/N leads the two visitors inside and Naoyasu sees his parents.

Kuguri: mom, dad...

Naoyasu's father approaches him on the counter and picks an apple. He pats his son's back.

Kuguri's dad: what were you about to do?

Kuguri: we're about to watch a movie... and I make some snacks for us...

Kuguri looks at the sofa where Y/N sits with his mother. Kuguri knows how much his mother likes Y/N. Even back then when they broke up, his mother is mad at him.

Kuguri's mom: I'm so glad he marry you... when Nao suddenly calls me and says that he's getting married, I was surprised and worried...

Kuguri's father walks closer to the two and sits next to his wife.

Kuguri's dad: but when he says "I want to marry Y/N" she's so excited and became so happy...

Kuguri's mom: because our Y/N is si sweet... I'm glad you two decided to get back together....

Y/N's embarrassed by now and she looks down at her laps, faces all flushed.

Y/N: un... thank you so much... Mother in law... father in law...

Kuguri's mom: what's with that?

Y/N looks up but then she sees Kuguri's mother pouts and his father smiles.

Kuguri's dad: you can just call us mother and father, Y/N...

Kuguri's mom holds Y/N's hand and smiles. Kuguri watches as his parents are dotting on his wife.

Kuguri's mom: we.. think of you as our own daughter... no need to call us in law, we're family...

Y/N's heart was warmed and her chest feels fuzzy. She looks down at her lap and then Kuguri notices something. He walks closer to her.

Kuguri: Y/N...

Tears fall onto her laps. Y/N covers her face with her hands.

Y/N: I'm... I'm sorry I just... suddenly remember my mom... and dad... I... it's been a while since I... (sobs)

Being treated kindly by Kuguri's parents makes Y/N remember her owns. Though she was loved by her uncle's family, she still misses a mother figure because Yamato's wife has passed away too. But now, she can finally feel the touch of a mother.

Kuguri's mother pulls Y/N to her and hugs the younger woman. She rubs a circle on her back and strokes her hair.

Kuguri's mom: we're your parents too, sweetie...

Y/N hugs Kuguri's mother and looks at his father behind her, smiling at her kindly.

Y/N: t-thank you...

Kuguri feels sad when he sees her cry. Realizing that the wound of losing someone close to her was still intact somewhere inside her heart.

They're all eating dinner together. Y/N is really happy to spend the evening with Kuguri and his parents. Kuguri couldn't help but steals glances at her. Seeing how happy she is in his family's presence, makes him happy as well.

When dinner ends, Y/N and Kuguri's mother washes the plates together. They happily converse in the kitchen while the men look at them from the living room.

Kuguri feels a hand on his shoulder, he looks to his side and sees his father smiles at him.

Kuguri's dad: treat her nicely Naoyasu... we're glad you have her as your wife...

Kuguri looks at his wife who sweetly laughs with his mother in their kitchen. Y/N looks at Kuguri's way and smiles at him. The corner of his lips turns up as he can't help himself from smiling.

Kuguri: yes... I'm also glad... to have her...

Y/N is nervously staring at the bedsheet, Kuguri's bedsheet. Kuguri walks inside his room and sees Y/N still standing next to the bed. He can feel that she's nervous and to be honest, so does he.

The two had never been as far as getting on the bed together back in high school, and though last night Y/N practically sleep on top of him, he wasn't sober and they were sleeping on the couch.

Kuguri walks closer to the bed and tries to ease her.

Kuguri: don't worry... I won't do anything weird to you...

Kuguri sits on the other side of the bed and then Y/N calmed down, hearing how kind Kuguri's voice is. She climbs the bed and lays on her back. Kuguri also laying down on his side of the bed. The two are staring at the ceiling.

Kuguri: you... must be really missing your mother...

Y/N's eyes widened and she looks at Kuguri before looking back at the ceiling again.

Y/N: yes... I miss her a lot... I usually don't really think about it but.... your mother... she's really kind, she reminds me of her...

Kuguri glances at her and says

Kuguri: your mother was really kind...

The two talk about the old days and suddenly Y/N stops responding. Kuguri looks at her side and sees that his wife's eyes are closed. Y/N is asleep.

Kuguri sits next pulls the blanket higher to cover Y/N's body. Y/N moves in her sleep and lays on her side, facing Kuguri. Kuguri slowly reaches out and gently pats Y/N's back.

He listens to her soft breath and eventually, he falls asleep.

■Y/N's POV■

The ray of light hits my face, I try to turn around but I can't.

I can't move...

I open my eyes and my heart skips a beat as I see Naoyasu san's face so close to mine. His warm breath hits my face as I look up at him. His arms wrapped around me, securing me, pressed to his chest.

Too close...

Y/N: N-Naoyasu... san...

I try to call his name and he finally woke up. My eyes met his slightly opened one.

Kuguri: hmm... Y/N?

His morning voice as he says my name makes my heart racing. Just then his eyes widened and he pulls his arms away from my body, letting the warmth left my body.

Kuguri: Y/N... I'm... sorry... I-

Y/N: it's.... it's okay...

My heart beating like crazy and I can't look at him in the eye. We both got up and I head to the kitchen while Naoyasu san makes the bed.

Kuguri's mom: good morning

Y/N: a-ah morning... um breakfast will be ready in a minute, mother, father please wait...

Kuguri's dad: thank you Y/N... oh, good morning Naoyasu....

Naoyasu san walks here and stands next to me.

Kuguri: morning mom, dad.... here, I'll help you out...

Naoyasu san helps me with placing the plates and utensils, and we finally eat together. After eating and talks for a while, Naoyasu's parents are about to leave.

Kuguri's mom: you two please come and visit us too... I want to bake with my Y/N...

Y/N: mother, thank you for coming... I... would like to bake with you too...

They finally left, leaving me and Naoyasu san alone.

I walk to the guest room and taking a basket to get my stuff in Naoyasu's san's room.

Kuguri: what are you doing?

I look up at him and tell him

Y/N: I...I'm gonna clean up my stuff in your room... I'll take them back to the guest ro-

Kuguri: no need...

I look up at Naoyasu who's staring at me.

Kuguri: you can just leave them there... it's not only my room... it's yours too... because you're my wife...

Dub Dub

My heart skips a beat as I see Naoyasu san walk closer to me and takes the basket away.

Kuguri: Y/N... can we... just... stay in the same room?

Naoyasu san proposed to me as a deal..

Telling me that one day we can just part  

But each day...

He keeps on making my heart race...

If we part again...

It'll hurt me more than before...
